1. IDA

   Access to services via another Carrier's network can be via indirect access (using a short dialling prefix)

2. ILEC

   A commercial telecom entity that was in business prior to the Telecommunications Act of 1996. ILECs include tiny regional providers.

3. IMEI

   is a number unique to every GSM and UMTS mobile phone. It is usually found printed on the phone underneath the battery. The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid devices and therefore can be used to stop a stolen phone from accessing the network. For example, if a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call his or her network provider and instruct them to ""ban"" the phone using its IMEI number. This renders the phone useless, regardless of whether the phone's SIM is changed.

4. IPS tag

   An IPS tag is a unique identifier given to each Tag-Holder with Nominet (the registry for all UK domain names). Tag-Holders are the “Domain Name Companies” that provide domain name registration services. They include specialist domain name companies, hosting companies, Internet Service Providers and others such as web designers. The tag is used to identify the company responsible for the management of a .uk domain. It is a single alpha-numeric sequence, in uppercase, sometimes hyphenated.IPS tag only applies to UK Domains like .co.uk , .uk.com, .uk.net, .me.uk .ac.uk and .org.uk. To change IPS tag of your domain you will need to contact the registrar or hosting company from where your domain name was registered.

5. ISDN

   An international standard for end-to-end digital transmission of voice, data, and signaling. In a videoconference it is a system that provides simultaneous voice, video, and text transmission between individual desktop videoconferencing systems and group (room) videoconferencing systems.

6. ISP

   An ISP is a company that provides access to the Internet to individuals or companies.
