We can provide a Cisco 1841 router as part of of a bonded DSL Broadband service circuit that is provided by Murphx (Griffin do not offer any bonded circuits). These are pre-configured and managed and monitored by Murphx's NOC. In theory there is no reason why we can not provide a router as a box shift - but we would just back off the manufacturers warranty and would not offer technical support on it. We certainly could not pre-configure it, as this would leave us open to offering support on the bonded circuit.
Having a static/fixed IP address has advantages mainly for more involved internet users, such people who run businesses. For example with a static/fixed IP address to can set-up an email account directly to your computer without needing to use a email provider such Hotmail or Gmail. This is of particular use if you run your own business, especially as having a static/fixed IP address allows you to run your own website server. Static/fixed IP addresses also allow you to access your computer remotely, so you can log into your computer wherever you are in the world. Static/fixed IP addresses also allow you a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server which allows you to transfer information between computers easily and efficiently. Static/fixed IP addresses also reduces downtime. Disadvantages of static/fixed IP Addresses: The main problem with static/fixed IP addresses is that it makes your computer more vulnerable to hackers; because the address doesn?t change it means that a hacker can attack your computer repeatedly but with sufficient protection, such as a firewall, this negates that problem.
If a customer moves premises and has broadband associated with their analogue line/s, when they move premises the broadband will be ceased. If they require broadband at their new premises, they will need to make an order for broadband service to be reprovided at the new premises. If the customer has broadband with another provider they will need to notify their current broadband provider that they are planning to move their line and will need to reorder broadband at their new premises or if their broadband is with us, we will need a reprovision order.

The DDI billing available via Gamma has some limitations, can be removed by mistake uness it is absolutely clear that it is required and is not entirely consistent in its delivery of data to Class. It should therefore only be sold as part of our package to those customers who would like it, rather than for those for whom it is a must have.In certain circumstances Gamma DDI Billing simply does not work at all. These are generally a) if it has not specifically been provisioned against the customer's main CLI This allows the caller's telephone number to be displayed when the call is received. This helps the agent identify the caller. Another name for a telephone number!, b) if the PABX is not set up actually to deliver DDI data along with the outbound call over the Gamma network and c) if there are some sorts of special customer requirements such as making the presenting CLI This allows the caller's telephone number to be displayed when the call is received. This helps the agent identify the caller. Another name for a telephone number! invisible to the called party. OPAL extension level billing does work and is tested. This will obviously present different bill data to Gamma DDI billing, as it is genuine extension level billing, unless of course the DDIs are specifically linked to the extensions. It does require custom programming of the customer's PABX by Ben and his team, but this is not too difficult to do. Since OPAL is not our default carrier, Provisioning also need to be made clearly aware of this requirement. Also needed by Billing so as to effect a clear bill presentment is a list of all extensions, their descriptions and their subsite allocations. This is now in place and working at Boston CVS, which means that we can give them their subsite breakdowns by extensions within their standard bill, rather than them having to collect and deliver daily/monthly switch data and us having to go to a lot of work to process that through a different system to equate to the overall bills.
Class Billing services include; Billing format option - online invoices, email bills and paper bills. Payment options - direct debit, BACS transfer or standard cheques, but we prefer Direct Debit its greener and we get paid on time! Bill management options; single bill with sub-site cost centring, or a single bill with the site manager receiving a statement of expenditure for viewing or all sites invoiced individually, with Head Office visibility. Billing reports including Top 10 numbers by length of call, top 10 most expensive numbers called, top 10 most frequently dialed numbers or top 10 individual calls by value. And graphical analysis can be completed to show Monthly Call spend, Daily Call Spend, Calls by time of day and Calls by day of the month, for example.
CDR is a record containing information relating to a single call or session stands for Call Data Record. All calls generate a call data record automatically.
Class outsources it's billing services to Aurora kendrick James who despatch Class branded bills and invoices and provide Class with a billing platform we can access to view customer's services and costs.

You need to have a BT phone line. Broadband access is also subject to local availability and capacity levels. We can check this for you.
Least Cost Routing is the process that provides customers with cheap telephone calls. Within a telecoms carrier, an LCR team will be choosing routes from between twenty to over one hundred suppliers for five hundred or more destinations across the world on a weekly or even daily basis to maintain a competitive cost base and acceptable call quality. Class works with two key suppliers who provide LCR and so offers us competitive wholesale call prices.
Carrier Pre-Select is is the next Least Cost Routing step where we use other suppliers to route our customers calls and pre-select where the call traffic goes i.e. not over BTs retail network. This is done automatically at the customer's exchange when the customer requests to transfer calls to us we set up the calls to pass over our network and bypass BTs. It can also be set up using a four digit code for a specific route - e.g. homeworkers can be given access to CPS Allows you to choose which telecommunications provider you want to carry your voice calls. when provided with a bypass number (usually 1xxx) to dial onto their phone before they dial out to make a call.
IDA Access to services via another Carrier's network can be via indirect access (using a short dialling prefix) is Indirect Access - where we can set up calls to be routed over another carrier's network.
Gamma Telecom and BT Wholesale. We also use Kingston as backup where our other carrier/s may suffer outage.
We provide reservationless audio conferencing where customers just set up conferences themselves using dedicated conference numbers and access codes and following a set of instructions, invite people to attend and Glance, downloadable software providing secure screen-sharing capability. We do not provide Webinar services.
A webinar is a neologism to describe a specific type of web conference. It is typically one-way, from the speaker to the audience with limited audience interaction, such as in a webcast. A webinar can be collaborative and include polling and question & answer sessions to allow full participation between the audience and the presenter. In some cases, the presenter may speak over a standard telephone line, pointing out information being presented on screen and the audience can respond over their own telephones, preferably a speaker phone. There are web conferencing technologies on the market that have incorporated the use of VoIP audio technology, to allow for a truly web-based communication. Webinars may (depending upon the provider) provide hidden or anonymous participant functionality, enabling participants to be unaware of other participants in the same meeting.
Conferencing is the communication between three or more sites that are linked by a voice only telecommunications medium.
Basic web conferencing via a simple piece of screen-sharing software, which is downloaded by the customer from a Class internet link. The customer then sets up the software on their computer (following a setup wizard) and can then send an email to conference attendees. Attendees then access a dedicated Glance meeting link that will provide them visibility of the hosts presentation material/document direct on his/her computer.
Using a computer, video camera, and network such as the Internet, to conduct a live conference between two or more people. Class does not currently provide this service.
Web conferencing is used to conduct live meetings or presentations over the Internet. In a web conference, each participant sits at his or her own computer and is connected to other participants via the internet. This can be either a downloaded application on each of the attendees computers or a web-based application where the attendees will simply enter a URL (website address) to enter the conference.

They/the builder will need to register the new building/s with the Royal Mail as they will need a postcode for BTO registration! They will need to have the builder to contact BT Openreach and get the building/units registered and request that service is brought in for the building - like getting set up for gas/electricity/water - BTOpenreach will need to bring in service to the new building. We will also need what is called a BTO Congo reference number from them for that. Ben's team can provide more detail on that. The customer must confirm the address of the new building/s and the new office for us. If it's new buildings the address cannot be the same as the old office - the new building should have a new address registered.
Yes - Class customers on fixed line services will be charged a 3p connection charge for outbound landline calls made to 0845 numbers. BT has imposed a connection charge for 0845, which we, like all Service Providers, have reluctantly had to pass on to our customers. Via our invoice we have advised all customers that calls to 0845 numbers have a 3 pence connection charge.

It is a dedicated, private line and only carries communications and traffic from your company, resulting in a guaranteed level of service. The line can be used for data, video and voice and is most effective when sharing bandwidth The physical characteristic of a telecommunications system that indicates the speed at which information can be transferred. A multiline is a group of telephone lines with one telephone number. The first line is known as the main exchange line, whilst the extra lines are known as auxiliary lines. The additional line/s (or auxiliary line) is added to the main exchange telephone line so there's no need for a new number.
Public Switched Telephony Network (PSTN Also know as Plain Old Telephone System, this refers to the world's collection of interconnected public telephone networks designed primarily for voice traffic.) is the analogue network for residential and business customers in the UK. Analogue lines are single lines that are primarily used for making voice calls, connecting to fax machines, franking machines, PDQ machines and connecting to a modem for dial up internet. They use copper wires.

"ISDN30e is an advanced digital solution for larger businesses. It is the equivalent of 30 analogue lines each of which work at 64kbps. ISDN30e is a high-performance voice and data service for modern business. Their digital technology gives higher line quality. And they use optical fibre cable, not copper wires like ISDN2e lines. An ISDN30e line provides the capacity for between 8 and 30 continuous voice calls. ISDN30e lines can be set up with DDIs and SNDDIs."
"Analogue lines only allow 1 call at a time. A Digital line consists of a digital connection between you and the local exchange and may be copper or fibre optic but it can also handle multiple voice and data events simultaneously, depending on how many channels are set up. The regular phone line which most people have in their home is an analogue line. Your voice is picked up by your telephone mouthpiece and then sent down the phone line as an analogue wave form. There are 2 charges for this set up. BTO will charge us for the conversion of the PSTN Also know as Plain Old Telephone System, this refers to the world's collection of interconnected public telephone networks designed primarily for voice traffic. line to Digital System - which gives 2 channels. If the customer requires 4 channels we will need to supply another ISDN2e System line (as unlike ISDN30 you don't just add channels) which will provide the next two channels required. If the customer just wanted 2 channels, then the one conversion charge would apply, but as they want 4 channels, they need another ISDN2e System connection with the next 2 channels, which then groups together on the 1 number (unlike ISDN2e Standard which can only ever have 2 channels on 1 number). Over 10 channels or so, it's more cost effective for the customer to have an ISDN30e connection.
An SNDDI is a Single Number DDI (Direct Dialling In), whereas numbers in Ranges are DDI's (Direct Dialling In). They are individually priced the same with us as generic DDIs.

Their site can be transferred to us but to retain their existing email address they will have to request their current provider sets up forwarding to their new email hosting address with Class.

Hosting usually refers to a computer (or a network of servers) that stores the files of a web site which has web server software running on it, connected to the Internet. Your site is then said to be Hosted. Each website needs to have physical space where the files will be held. Generally this is done by purchasing space on a large web server which will host many different sites. Each site has its own area on the server which is typically accessed remotely using FTP (File Transfer Protocol). This web server can also act as an email server to facilitate the sending and receiving of emails but this can also be hosted on a completely different server, with no ill affects.

Yes, 0500 are freephone numbers originating with Cable and Wireless and we can port them to our Inbound Call Solutions services with ICS only at the moment.

Gamma: Class can port DDI ranges & SNDDIs providing a porting agreement is in place with the current provider/originating range holder of numbers when it comes to splitting a DDI range, this is sometimes possible if in blocks but will depend on the configuration of the circuit and which DDIs are associated with which bearers. On the Gamma online porting form we can set out the DDIs/SNDDIs associated with the circuit and which we wish to port/cease/remain.
No, this is not possible. The reason for this is that we cannot apply a message to inbound/NGN numbers as this is a service which is not available on inbound number platforms. Applying "Caller Redirect" (which would give the appropriate message to callers) at the BT exchange to a customer's fixed exchange line/s is not appropriate as the customer is not having the changes made to the fixed exchange line/s - the service is only available if the customer has their fixed exchange line/s renumbered or ceased - inbound numbers are simply pointing inbound calls to the customer's fixed exchange line/s. The best course of action would be for the customer to set up required alternative inbound numbers (e.g. 0370...) with their 0870 numbers remaining live for a 3 month period in line with the new 03 number/s. The customer would then need to update their website and literature with the new numbers and advise clients as they ring in that the numbers have changed to the new number/s.

The customer will just type the name in the "Originator" field - although this is limited to 11 characters (including spaces)
No, there is number behind it so relies cannot be sent unless a mobile numer or email address is provided as part of the message. If the customer uses an originator name they also have to include a piece of text "Txt STOP 2 07781474274" at the end of the message to allow recipients of a message from a name, rather than a number, to opt out of receiving SMS Text messaging from that originator. Input "Txt STOP 2 07781474274 to decline further messages" but bear in mind that the total character count per message is 137 long and that includes the "Stop" text too. If customers want text messages to come back to their 1st Class Messaging portal they would use their system originator number (which is automatically provided with their account) and they'd just click on the Inbound SMS Text messaging button in their menu to view the messages from the portal.

We can offer a couple of options. 1) Port to a Virtual (VoIP number) inbound only with F+ service on which they apply call diversion to their new fixed line at the new location or 2) Port their number to be set up as an inbound number with Inbound Contact Point service and the customer then points their number to their new landline. They will have to pay for the std fixed line at the new address + the service/number rental for their ported number + forwarding charges to their new number.

No. All calls are billed per second with no call connection charge. BT impose a 4.2p minimum call charge on every call. That's equivalent to over a 2-minute local call. Just think of all the short calls you make, including faxes.
Yes. Gather as much information on the customer's circuit/s as possible including circuit numbers, addresses, size of the circuit/s, point to points for where and a full copy of their most recent bill and we can take it from there. Work with Simon and Pedro to cover the provisioning/takeover etc. Speak with Julian about the pricing and technical requirements.
Also often known as a Private Circuit, a leased line is a permanent, always on connection between two locations. It is a dedicated, private line and only carries communications and traffic from your company, resulting in a guaranteed level of service. The line can be used for data, video and voice and is most effective when sharing bandwidth The physical characteristic of a telecommunications system that indicates the speed at which information can be transferred. For ADSL, speeds of up to 8 Mb/s are currently offered, 2 Mb/s is sufficient to transmit a video signal. Technologies such as VDSL offer the possibility of providing data rates of up to 15 Mb/s. hungry applications between different offices.
No, the customer will only get a total of 2 meg data transfer on that line. The line can also not be used for calls - data only.
SDSL A version of DSL where the upload speeds and download speeds are the same - a separate line for voice is required (unless VoIP is used) (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line) is high-speed Internet access service with matching upstream and downstream data rates. That is, data can be sent to the Internet from the client machine or received from the Internet with equal bandwidth The physical characteristic of a telecommunications system that indicates the speed at which information can be transferred. For ADSL, speeds of up to 8 Mb/s are currently offered, 2 Mb/s is sufficient to transmit a video signal. Technologies such as VDSL offer the possibility of providing data rates of up to 15 Mb/s. availability in both directions. Normally, DSL Broadband service service is asymmetrical (ADSL Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line - A telephone line with uneven transmission rates; half the transmission can attain speeds up to 640 kbps; the other half can attain speeds of 2.048 Mbps or greater in the opposite direction.), with the bulk of the bandwidth The physical characteristic of a telecommunications system that indicates the speed at which information can be transferred. For ADSL, speeds of up to 8 Mb/s are currently offered, 2 Mb/s is sufficient to transmit a video signal. Technologies such as VDSL offer the possibility of providing data rates of up to 15 Mb/s. reserved for receiving data, not sending it. SDSL A version of DSL where the upload speeds and download speeds are the same - a separate line for voice is required (unless VoIP is used) is normally used by businesses with a Web presence In computing, Presence is defined as the "availability and willingness of the user (presentity) for communication". Presence information is published by individuals for other systems users, known as 'watchers' or 'subscribers', to indicate their communication state. Although not limited to IP communications, it has become synonymous with IP applications such as VoIP and Instant Messaging., VPN, extranet or intranet needs. In these cases the client server may be required to upload large streams of data to the Internet on a regular basis. ADSL Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line - A telephone line with uneven transmission rates; half the transmission can attain speeds up to 640 kbps; the other half can attain speeds of 2.048 Mbps or greater in the opposite direction. would be slow and inadequate for this purpose, as the bandwidth The physical characteristic of a telecommunications system that indicates the speed at which information can be transferred. For ADSL, speeds of up to 8 Mb/s are currently offered, 2 Mb/s is sufficient to transmit a video signal. Technologies such as VDSL offer the possibility of providing data rates of up to 15 Mb/s. available for uploading is normally less than 1 megabit per second (mbps). SDSL A version of DSL where the upload speeds and download speeds are the same - a separate line for voice is required (unless VoIP is used) bandwidth The physical characteristic of a telecommunications system that indicates the speed at which information can be transferred. For ADSL, speeds of up to 8 Mb/s are currently offered, 2 Mb/s is sufficient to transmit a video signal. Technologies such as VDSL offer the possibility of providing data rates of up to 15 Mb/s. can be as high as 7 mbps in both directions. An Internet service provider offering SDSL A version of DSL where the upload speeds and download speeds are the same - a separate line for voice is required (unless VoIP is used) may offer different grades for varying prices. The faster the data rate, the more expensive the service. Usually, long-term contracts are required for SDSL A version of DSL where the upload speeds and download speeds are the same - a separate line for voice is required (unless VoIP is used) service regardless of the grade chosen. SDSL A version of DSL where the upload speeds and download speeds are the same - a separate line for voice is required (unless VoIP is used) utilizes a digital frequency traveling across existing copper telephones lines to send and receive data. When using the telephone line for SDSL A version of DSL where the upload speeds and download speeds are the same - a separate line for voice is required (unless VoIP is used) service, phone and fax services on that line must be suspended. Therefore a dedicated second, or additional, line is needed for SDSL A version of DSL where the upload speeds and download speeds are the same - a separate line for voice is required (unless VoIP is used) service. This differs from ADSL Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line - A telephone line with uneven transmission rates; half the transmission can attain speeds up to 640 kbps; the other half can attain speeds of 2.048 Mbps or greater in the opposite direction., which "leaves room" for both standard analog telephone equipment and the digital signal, so that one can talk on the phone or use a fax machine while online. SDSL A version of DSL where the upload speeds and download speeds are the same - a separate line for voice is required (unless VoIP is used) service is an "always on" service, meaning that the computer is actively connected to the Internet whenever powered up. If the computer always remains on, the Internet connection will be continuously active.
TCD cannot be applied on specific date and time. You cannot ask for a time or date for the TCD to be activated. If a TCD order has been placed before 4pm it should be issued the same day. If the order is placed after 4pm it will be issued for the next day.
Smart Divert is only applicable on Analogue lines, there is admin controlled call divert or check with their phone system maintainers as they might be able to set something up in their phone system.
The customer could have End User Controlled Call Barring with PIN the PIN is a like a password that prevents other people from using your service. It is numeric code used to unlock the phone and/or complete a call or data transmission. It must be entered each time you use the phone, unless you disable it. (Mobile services). In order to get the benefits of Call Barring the end user will need a Touch Tone phone switched to Tone Dialling.
Select Services are additional features which customers can have on their telephone lines (what they can have depends on their line type) which allow them to divert calls, barr calls, take messages and so forth. Some of these services can be applied direct to the customer's line or at the exchange. BT now calls them Calling Features.

Analogue phones are telephone handsets that use an old, non-digital, method of communicating. The term analogue phone is often used to describe handsets that are used in the home, and that are not the DECT Is a digital wireless technology that is being used for local cordless coverage in both home and corporate phone systems. A very flexible standard, it can be applied to cordless PBX, wireless local loop, and dual mode GSM/DECT systems. (cordless) type, but there are also business handsets available for companies that have a simple, standard BT telephone connection, or who have older phone systems in the office. The main difference between a digital and an analogue phone is that the either the phone connects directly in to an analogue port, for example in the home the phone goes straight in to the BT socket. Digital phones are often quoted as having better call quality, but this is often a misnomer since the signal is usually converted to an anologue signal at some point before it reaches the person that you are calling. Analogue handsets tend to be cheaper, and have less features than a digital handset. This is partly down to the fact that analogue handsets are less capable, and digital networks provide far more features, but it's also down to price point. Analogue handsets are usually much cheaper than digital phones.

Voice over Internet protocol. This is the technology used to transmit voice conversations over a data network using IP. This is done by digitizing voice into discrete packets that are transferred independently over the network, instead of traditional circuit-committed protocols of the PSTN Also know as Plain Old Telephone System, this refers to the world's collection of interconnected public telephone networks designed primarily for voice traffic..
